The Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) is a basic component of the ECU. It monitors engine speed and piston position, and sends signals to the ECU to control the fuel injection, ignition timing and other functions. If the CAS is defective, engine startup will not be possible and the unit needs to be replaced.
