R35 GT-R CXP "Tesla Killer" Intakes

CXP started from scratch on the CAD program, to design the intake piping. CXP then 3D printed prototypes. Those prototypes were then used to insure not only fitment, but where also flow tested to achieve maximum CFM for the best performance. CXP then went back to the CAD program, and designed a custom air filter from the ground up.

One that would not only match the performance of the intake pipes CXP had created, but make the most use out of the space they were designed to function within.

What CXP ended up with was a completely bespoke oval and tapered filter that had a maximized, and increased overall surface area to draw from in the space it was designed to operate within. CXP's next step was to make aluminum prototypes with the bespoke filter installed, so we could find the best placement for the MAF sensor. To achieve this CXP used a flow bench to not only measure the airflow through the intakes, but more importantly the voltage readings on the MAF sensor in various locations on the intakes. By monitoring the voltage readings from the MAF CXP were able to ascertain the optimum position for the MAF sensor placement on those intakes. Lastly CXP needed to put the finishing touch on the intakes. Something that would not only make them look even better, but something that would add to the performance of the product. Powder coating though was ruled out right away. Why? Because powder coating will retain heat, and even add to the heat soak of any intake located within an engine compartment.

Powder coating any product adds a thick heavy layer of additional material on any metal surface it is sprayed and baked on. While it does add to the finished look of the product, it does not add to the performance. It also after time begins to fade, and lighten when exposed to temperatures in excess of 250° So the choice came down to one option. A Hi-temp 1800° Tungsten Cerakote finish. Cerakote is a very thin hi-end ceramic based finish that enhances the physical performance of anything it is applied on, including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Cerakote 1800° also reduces the thermal cycle and reduces surface temperature in extreme heat applications. It withstands thermal shock without degrading or losing color and is 100% UV Stable and will not fade. Meaning by Cerakoting our R35 intakes CXP would add the additional performance CXP were looking for in a coating. The CXP R35 GTR Tesla Killer Intakes where also designed for easy installation, and without having to remove the front bumper cover on the R35 Nissan GTR to install them So if you want a product for your R35 GTR that not only looks Bad Ass, but was designed and created to perform that way as well. Then this product was made for you.
