240Z-260Z-280Z Factory Tailgate Lock, 70-78

Description:
This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement for the tailgate lock. These are known to wear out or corrode faster than other locks due to the location and angle where they are mounted. Includes 2 pre-cut keys and a proper size lock pad.

Model Note:
70-71 models will require modification of the factory deck lid to install this lock. Early deck lids have 3 notches cut out for the lock to fit; however, the replacement lock has 4 alignment tabs. Click here for pictures showing a 70-71 deck lid lock hole and the tabs on the replacement lock.

Availability Note:
Ever since Nissan discontinued production of these locks over two decades ago, inventory of these locks has been limited. Although it took some time to locate them originally, we were ultimately able to find a limited supply of these genuine Nissan Tailgate Locks in Canada. When that supply ran out, we were able to source more from importers in Japan. Like many items that we source from Japan or other areas around the world, these locks may not be in stock at all times.
