All EXEDY lightweight flywheels are made from a one piece chromoly steel forging or billet, followed by a nitrate-hardening process. Removing weight from the flywheel is the single thing that will improve acceleration and throttle response more readily than any other single modification. Inertia is not your friend, and reducing rotational inertia will also improve critical throttle response, especially for road racing, rallying and autocrossing.

EXEDY's lightweight flywheels are made from a solid chromoly forging, with the ring gear machined as an integral part rather than being a separate piece that's pressed on. So there's no ugly possibility of the ring gear coming apart at speed, causing massive damage. That's why EXEDY Stage 3, 4 and 5 clutch kits include one of these flywheels. While most vehicles can benefit from a lightened flywheel, if your vehicle has a heavy, cumbersome dual-mass flywheel, you can replace it with an EXEDY lightweight flywheel. And save money at the same time, because replacing that dual-mass flywheel is an expensive item.

EXEDY is a global leader in the clutch business, with hundreds of applications, many of them still bearing their original Daikin logo. Well-respected, and with a huge share of the OEM clutch industry, EXEDY has become a leader in the motorsports field, pioneering new technologies like puller clutch springs and carbon-fiber friction material. With roots going back to 1923, EXEDY manufactures globally, but has a major presence in the US, with several domestic facilities manufacturing clutch components for applications here and for export.
