Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads are made of ceramic compounds instead of traditional metallic ones found on most vehicles as original equipment. While the benefits of ceramic brakes can be specially tuned to optimize hard racetrack braking, autobahn speed highway needs, or simply provide longer wear, Performance Ceramic brake pads are designed for use to provide higher levels of smooth, refined braking on high performance production cars that may be driven under autobahn conditions rather than on the racetrack. Ceramic pads are used in professional racing because they offer the natural ability to stay cool under the most severe conditions where 200 mile-per-hour speeds generate blistering temperatures. Heat buildup is reduced so extensively that brake fade rarely occurs due to fluid reaching boiling temperature. Ceramic brake pads are far quieter due to their higher resonant frequency undetectable by human ears, so squealing noise does not become an issue, even in the most extreme cold or warm temperatures. Performance Ceramic Brake Pads offer the extremely visible benefit of producing finer, less obtrusive dust that does not stick to most wheel surfaces – most befitting to a high-end automobile. You'll be spared the large amounts of visible black dust that soils aluminum wheels and ultimately becomes corrosive to finishes applied on them. And because the wear factor of ceramic pads is lower than traditional metallic ones, they will last longer.

If you're installing Hawk Performance Ceramic brake pads with new brake rotors, you'll find down the road when the time comes to replace the pads again, rotors will still be usable enough to last through another set of brake pads. If you install them without replacing rotors, pre-chamfered pad edges will mate well against grooves and lips that have already formed as rotor surfaces wear. Instead of the pad squealing as it rubs along the lip edges, it will quietly and evenly press against the part of the rotor where it will have the most effect. To ensure the superior braking power of these pads is not compromised during bad weather conditions, they feature a slotted center groove to effectively remove water, dust, and gasses that build up normally during the braking process.

Founded in 1990, Hawk Performance is part of the Carlisle Brake and Friction (CBF) group of companies based in Ohio that produces traditional and hydraulic brake parts, clutch equipment, and transmission components as OEM equipment for a wide range of agricultural, aviation, military, motorcycle, and construction equipment manufacturers. CBF products are used by Caterpillar, John Deere, Eaton, Wichita Clutch, DANA, Allison, Harley Davidson, Brembo, ZF Sachs, Clark Hurth, and many more. Hawk Performance draws on that incredible pool of engineering talent to create some of the most respected performance brake pads and rotors for the automotive industry, and has recently been named the official brake product of Pirelli World Challenge Championship, SCCA, and SCVRA racing organizations. Hawk brake components have been instrumental in racing victories with the Nissan Skyline GT-R team, Baja races, and a variety of motorsports events. When you want the best brake components for high performance driving or towing needs that meet or exceed OEM specification without OEM markup, Hawk Performance has you covered.
